What would I even call this?
I was pretty sick of not having a headboard the other day. I have been on the look out to find a really gorgeous vintage one, but the thrifts have been sparse, so my wall has remained bare. I decided to play around with some items I had on hand to give my bedroom a tidge (yes, tidge) of ambiance.
And I loves me some twinkle lights.
The gargantuan candle holder that we have had for ages was literally about to be taken out to the garage to put in my donate pile, when the leftover lights I had sitting on a table in my room caught my eye. I was planning on doing something with them, I just had no clue what.
I wrapped the lights all around the holder. Then I took an extra curtain rod and hung it on the wall with the lights at the center. I had some leftover purple chiffon from when I made my duvet cover and striped fabric from when I recovered my vanity chair, so I tore that up and tied the fabric strips to the rod. Super simple and fast little project. Looks like a big twinkly full moon.
{I also replaced the candles with pretty jewels, because obviously I won’t be burning candles in there anymore.}
I was just bored and playing around with what I had on hand, but it feels really cozy in my bed now, so this will tide me over until I find the perfect headboard. I have a really hard time putting any money into my bedroom decor, since it’s a place no one ever sees. Know what I mean? I just want to sleep somewhere twinkly and pretty.
I just want to sleep in Anthro.

I love twinkly lights too! Good luck in your headboard search.

What a great idea! I love faux headboards on the wall. When you get tired of it, you can change it! No commitment!
This is beautiful! what a great alternative
