Also Legit:: Almond Oil Hair Treatment

You know how your hair feels completely amazing after you get it done and all you do is run your fingers through it and you feel like a hair goddess? Well, I don’t.  I can hardly remember, it has been ages since I have gotten my hair done. True story, I actually tend to only get it professionally done once a year, because I just can’t bring myself to spend $200 on my head. I wish I was one of those every 6-8 week people. I really do, but the truth is I will probably end up at Sally’s buying hair color and I am forever trimming my own bangs and layers. Yep, my stylist hates. me. ;)

Anyway, now is the time when I start to get antsy and I know I need to get it done, but right now back to school for the kids is a priority, so I have been playing with all of the goodies that I already have to make myself feel better! I recently blogged about using coconut oil on your hair, which was totally legit. It made my hair super soft and it genuinely felt better. So the other day I decided to try out my bottle of Almond Oil in the same way!

A tablespoon at a time I worked it into my dry hair until it was all covered. Then I wrapped my hair in plastic wrap and then a towel and hung out. I blogged, and did whatever. (I didn’t really keep time.)

Then you just shampoo your hair ( twice if your hair is thinner and tends to be more oily. Mine is thick and course, so one was enough for me.) The results? Also legit! I really liked this as a sort of “hot oil treatment”.  The overall condition is just…better. Less ugh, if you will. I didn’t heat up the oil first, but maybe next time I will!

feel free to laugh. These weren’t taken as an intentional before and afters, I just noticed the HUGE difference it really made when I was looking at my instagrams. (I’d say it was maybe just the filter is it didn’t also feel sooo much better.) And yes that was days apart, I just have a lot of different iphone cases. ;)

Honestly you guys, I do NOT claim to be some expert on this stuff, but if I try it, and I like it, I will share it. Well, I’d probably share if I hated it too! But, Almond Oil is so great. I use it for so many home beauty DIYs and even put it directly on my face at night. I’m telling you, the things I am willing to do to fend off the wrinkles, I’d sleep in a pea pod if it helped. :)

Have you used Almond Oil before?

  2. I should try! After seeing the coconut oil, I tried it and it really made a difference. The weird thing is that my hair is oily, but super frizzy! I can’t seem to find a good medium and I try so hard for healthy hair… Ugh! I should now try the almond though and see how it does.

  7. I’m absolutely trying this. Doesn’t it smell fabulous? I bet. As a hairstylist, I’m not surprised that it works well! There are quite a few products out there that have almond oil in them. My hair is SO dry, because it’s naturally very curly. Where did you order your oil from?

After my hair lost it’s natural glow when I dyed it blonde, I began looking for a hair oil to restore its healthy sheen. Not only does the Shielo Hair Oil have a wonderful smell, it made my hair silky soft and gave it a lustrous shine.

I tried many different hair conditioning products, only to be left disappointed. Many of the other hair oils I tried either did nothing for my hair, or left my hair incredibly greasy. Shielo’s Oil is the first conditioning treatment that has left my hair silky soft and shiny without weighing it down.

  11. When I was younger, I used a teaspoon or so of almond oil and blended it in the shower with my regular conditioner. It made my hair amazing. I have not used it in years because after a while almond oil was hard to find for me. I bought a bottle today though, and am eager to try new ways of using almond oil for my hair. Thanks for sharing this post! :)

  12. twice if your hair is thinner and tends to be more oily. Mine is thick and course, so one was enough for me.
