Make Your Own:: Coconut Coffee Scrub

Super simple coconut coffee scrub!

On this week’s episode of I Freakin Love Coconut Oil…

You guys! This stuff is the shimmy. First of all it’s coconut oil, second of all it’s coffee. Which….wait for it…helps tighten skin and reduce cellulite! I know, I mean, we don’t have that anyway…but you know, if you know anyone who does.

I added the vitamin e just because I keep it on hand and use it for most skin related diys cause it’s so great for you, but you could certainly omit. I also added the sugar for an extra scrubbing texture, and again, you could omit that, but I personally loved this combo! I also put it into a jar and then stuck it in the fridge for a bit to get it solid, which made a lovely lip smoother as well.

This will make a bit of a mess in the shower, but it’s well worth the smooth bod you are coming out with. Let me know if you have any questions on this one, or if you give it a go!

xo, Colleen

  1. Oooohhhh. I must do this! Is it gross to ask someone else for their used coffee grounds? I only drink McCafe Iced Coffee (which, let’s face it, is just sugar and creamer)…not up on home brewing etiquette.

  6. Awesome! I want to try this! I love ANYTHING coconut and I love homemade body scrubs….in my opinion they work so much better than most of the scrubs I’ve bought!

  7. Oh wow! I bet that smells delicious! I freakin love coconut oil too! Thanks for a great scrub idea Colleen! :)

  8. Hi! I am LOVING this idea! Caffeine and coconut oil are both said to do wonders for the skin… My question is, do you know if UNused coffee grounds would work the same? I have a Keurig machine, and I can’t see myself opening up each little pod after using it to try and scrape together enough grounds to make this scrub. :) Thanks!!

I have a Keurig (I call mine the beast) so, I go to the closest starbucks and they give me used coffee grounds for free. (They are also good for compost). If nothing else get ya some inexpensive coffee and boil it in a pot then strain it. I am wondering if I should use organic coffee?

  9. Sorry but how much coffee grounds and coconut oil do you use? Want to make this for my MIL for Christmas (so up her ally!!) but I’m new to this so I need more specifics.

This scrub is great! Although some may argue it’s too rough on the skin, I think that’s just what I needed. I just got through applying it and already my skin feels amazing! I was getting tons of blackheads as well as whiteheads and they’re gone!!!! Thank you so much!!!
