Blogging for me is about being inspired. It’s why I read blogs and it’s what made me want one. Being motivated and inspired feels awesome. I caught myself in a moment of feeling awesome and inspired and motivated and I did something that I never really did before. I dissected how it was that I was feeling that way. I wanted to be able to replicate that feeling whenever I wanted. I stopped and thought about the “WHY am I feeling like this in this moment?” And then I tuned into the other times that I have felt that way and I feel like I narrowed a few things and thought I’d share.
Finding NEW music that I LOVE. This is huge. When I find a new songs that I love, I make a playlist of them and I can listen to it on repeat at least 10 times and still feel excited and motivated by it. Getting into some new (or new to me) music refreshes my spirit and gives me tons of energy. I love that we have such instant access to music, we are really lucky. Searching for 5 or so songs before I have to get into a task will totally energize me to do it, and I will have fun while I am. (obviously I am not talking sappy sad stuff, peppy fun music does it for me.)
Learning a NEW skill. When I teach myself a new skill I get so much adrenaline. Sound dorky? Try it. There is nothing more satisfying than realizing that you can do something that you never thought you could. We again are so lucky to have instant access to youtube and tutorials for just about anything for FREE. If you aren’t using it your losing it. I teach myself new things all of the time, and yeah, a lot of it doesn’t stick, but I now know how to do something if I need to. Like last year I bought myself a sewing machine and taught myself to sew. Am I sewing up a storm today? No. But I love that I can. Whether it be fondant cake decorating, a design skill, or video editing. Teaching myself to do something is a high like no other.
Winds of Change. I am a seasonal organizer. I don’t find myself to be someone who can handle keeping things super organized on a daily or even weekly basis, but when I get the urge it really gets me going. Also, a good furniture rearrange, desk redo, supply addition ect. Mixing things up. If I have something new to add a splash of fun to my workspace, I am more likely to want to sit down and be there. New pens, a blank notebook to write in. Gives you the good old fashioned back to school feeling. Ready and motivated.
Inspiring or informative documentaries. I am a sucker for documentaries. Food ones especially, but in general I love stories of success, or just information delivered to me in this manner. 60 minutes on a topic delivered in a highly compelling way and am usually ready to change my life. Or be a vegan. Or juice. Or become a marine biologist. It goes back to the learning new things I think, but I think it also comes to the seeing success of others in this one.
Make Something. At least for me. When I play around with something and it’s going to work out well my blood starts pumping. Back when I made DIY boot toppers I knew before I even started they would be rad and I couldn’t post it fast enough. Same thing with my coconut sugar body scrub. Sometimes you just know. To date they are still one of my biggest traffic generators. I get like that with anything I get excited for that I am working on. I can’t wait to get it done and post and share with you sometimes so much that I RUSH through the end to get it up. It pumps me up and makes me so inspired to do more. Makes ideas flow. Creativity breeds creativity.
What inspires you?

Thanks doll! You, too!
I hear you about new music. I love music and would be lost without it. 80′s music is always a way to get me out of my funk. Case in point? In my CD player right now is Billboard’s top hits from 1987.
That’s a great idea you had about purchasing a sewing machine and teaching yourself how to sew. I wish I knew how to sew! I may have to do what you did since I don’t know anyone who knows how to sew to teach me.
Do it girl! You can literally teach yourself almost anything with the internet these days! It’s so fun too.
So fun! Love this post. Always fun to see what inspires other people. So many of the same things inspire me. Seasonal organizing, new office supplies, making something, learning something. Just reading this has me pumped to clean my office and arrange it for prime inspiration.
Yes! Exactly why I shared. I love reading what inspires other people too, it always makes me want to get busy doing something.
