As some of you know I have been working with the folks at HTC for the past few weeks, and this week they asked me question. Where would my perfect vacation be? Did they know that my winter cabin fever was in full effect or what?
I really love traveling and want to go just about everywhere, but when it comes down to where would you go right now if you could? It would be Hawaii, cause freakin Hawaii that’s why. It has everything I could want in a vacation in paradise. In fact, I could plan it down to the last detail right from my HTC OneX using apps! I’m literally using my Expedia app to search flights as we speak…turns out a flight tomorrow from Cleveland to Honalulu is $924 so it’s likely I will be staying here…
But still, say that it is my dream world and I just landed in Hawaii. I’d use my phone to explore and find fun things to do for sure. I love the app Field Trip! You can set it to automatically alert you anytime that you are near something cool and it will tell you more about it! It’s rad. Also, if you are like me, you need a way to keep it all organized digitally. The free app TripIt can organize all of your hotel and flight info and keep you loaded with directions. Shawn has extreme travel anxiety anytime we go anywhere new, so it’s little things like this that keep our travels sane and keep panic attacks at bay.
Then of course we’d have to eat, like every 5 minutes since it’s vacation right? Can we talk about this app, Foodspotting? So I know that I can be annoying on instagram with food photos, or rather people that don’t blog often don’t understand our very healthy obsession with photographing our food before we eat it, but this app makes you feel totally normal. In fact, it WANTS photos of your food. So that when you are out and about and you want to see what looks good to eat you can do so. Literally. Photos others people submit of their food so you can see what is being served before you go. Pretty cool for traveling when you just never know what to expect!
It’s safe to say there are hundreds of Android apps that you can get for free to play around with and plan your trips. What are your favorites and where would you go?
*I was not compensated for this post, but I did receive an HTC OneX courtesy of HTC!

Wish the iPhone had an app like that for my upcoming trips! Or maybe I just need a HTC OneX.:)
