DIY- summer bronze cocoa powder face mask

Plain cocoa powder is full of antioxidants (hello? the good reason to eat chocolate!) something that skin loves, so why not use it on your face? The benefits don’t just stop there, they say even just breathing the scent of chocolate puts you in a better mood and can even have you feeling a little extra lovey if you’re picking up what I’m putting down. ;)

My skin has been in need of a little extra moisture with all of the drying chlorine and too much sun, so I whipped this up and was so happy with the results! Super easy and you probably have the ingredients in your pantry right now!

I combined the cocoa powder, local honey- for it’s hydration, vitamins, and anti-inflamatories, and extra virgin olive oil for the vitamins A and E, good fats and high moisture content that would sit on my skin and last.  When you get it nice and creamy apply a thin layer to a clean face. And then I tried to not lick my face for 15 minutes. ;)  Next, I rinsed and chose not to wash with soap, for a few reasons! First, the olive oil left my skin soft and moisturized, just like I was needing, and also? The cocoa powder gave my skin a bronzy summer glow! Perfect!

  • I took last week away from blogging and got some things done around the house. I painted my kitchen, did a chalkboard wall, threw away some junk. It feels awesome. Which leads to the fact that I just now want to spruce up literally every other area in our house. Haha. Really, though. I crave… [Continue Reading]
